6/22 - Last two puppies find their forever home!

6/22 - The last two puppies have found their forever homes!  7 out of the 8 puppies are located within MD and VA.  1 Special puppy is relocating to Texas as we write.   I will have empty nest syndrome!  My other 6 "big puppies" will keep me busy.  I will have lots of time for them again.  We are working on perfecting Aspen's new brace for his wrist.  He is doing pretty well without it recently!  But he needs it for permanent wear and tear.  Sassy is almost recovered from whelping...she still needs to gain 5-10lbs but is doing great.  She is being spayed on Monday.  Everyone else is doing great.  We are being groomed on Saturday (shutting down the grooming parlor!).  They really need it.  Never a dull moment......

6/14 - Flag Day

6/14 - Ok so I envisioned little puppies marching around together in review with little flags....not these guys!!!!  They are wild and crazy puppies chasing me around the kitchen with their food bowl in my hand.... now that ought to be an image maybe not patriotic but none the less.... Almost lost a limb today.  They were hungry!

Speaking of food - don't forget to go buy your Blue Buffalo Freedom Puppy (baby blue bags).  I recommend at a minimum one 24lb bag.  I also recommend some canned Blue Buffalo Freedon Puppy or Blue Buffalo Wilderness canned (all NO GRAIN foods).  I feed approximately one tablespoon per meal per puppy with their kibble and water mixture.  It really promotes the appetite - especially after the drama of separation from the litter, a car ride and new surroundings and family.  They probably won't eat their first scheduled meal - don't worry.  If they still skip after the first 2 meals - call me immediately.  We will figure out how to get them to eat together.

If you haven't already, get your Essay about your future puppy in today!  I need those by Friday AM.

Don't forget a crate and couple towels for the trip home.  I promise not to feed them before they leave!  I also recommend a bottle of water, bowl, leash(cheap on for now - they will chew it up).  I have collars on each puppy.  Bring some papertowels.  DO NOT USE cleaner in the crate and put the puppy right into it.  This will make them very sick.  So if they throw up, use water to clean up until you get home.

The vet visits tomorrow morning.  We will do shots (1st set), microchipping and health checks.  They will then have another bath and play outside for a little while if the weather permits.  It will be a full day for the puppies.

Saturday is the LER - Litter Evaluation Report Day.  It will be extremely busy for all.  I will return calls in the evening on Saturday.  Any last minute questions etc...will be addressed after we complete the LER which maybe after 8pm.    So if you have any concerns, Friday is the time to call.

More later....

6/10 - Cute is not the word.....

6/10 - What a day! They are so darn cute.  We had lots of visitors today- it was a blast.  We were inside then outside and then back inside.  Too hot.  The personalities are really coming out.  They are so much alike is it spooky.  They are gaining weight - expect 13-15lbs at pickup.  Maybe more.... Toys are key to keeping your sanity - lots of chew toys (no rawhide or small pieces).  Love the nylabones and tough rubber toys  - forget the latex they will kill them with their sharp teeth.  Rope toys are good too.

We see the vet on Friday for shots, microchipping and health paperwork.  We will get a bath too.  Saturday is the LER - Litter Evaluation Report.  Sunday is pickup (call for your times).  Busy week ahead.   You will really like the photos this week.  We (Andrew, Julie and Lisa did the photos) took 100's of photos to get some really good shots for your enjoyment.  Attached are a couple.
