1st Week Snap Shots

Well the puppies are 1 week old today. All are gaining weight and growing before my eyes into puppies! They squak when they are unhappy, they mummer when they are nursing. It is such a wide range of sounds and demands! Keeps me on my toes. I think they are just starting to balance themselves for walking. They get up on all fours then fall over. It is so cute. Soon they will be running around the whelping box looking for an escape route to the rest of the house! Their eyes are still closed but this too shall change really soon. It has been a long week with little sleep but I have loved every minutes of it. It is a true joy and privilege to raise these precious puppies. I hope to catch up this week with more sleep and many naps. Sassy has turned out to be an excellent momma dog. I have no needs to worry about her and the puppies. She will nurse just one puppy until it is done - what a trooper. Here are a couple photos from this past week. Hope you enjoy them.
